The School is housed in a beautiful historic mansion on tree-lined Buena Avenue in
the Buena Park Historic District on the North Side. The Campus includes the main
house, coach house and garden, surrounded by a wrought iron fence. The Preschool
occupies the main floor with offices and parent/tot and new mom's groups on the
second floor. Preschoolers are able to enjoy the outdoor setting, tend a children's
garden and hear stories in the home's beautiful library. Award-winning architect,
Patrizio Fradiani of Studio F Design developed the layout and interior designer,
Amy Meier of Studio M Design selected the finishes and furnishings.
The property was gifted in 2009 by the Day School to Menomonee Club to operate
programs for children and families. Menomonee Club invited Smart Love to consider
it as a home for its preschool. The history of the property as a school dates back
to 1943 when Mrs. Elizabeth Andrews, a pioneer in special education, converted her
home into a school.
